CONSULTING/ COACHING/ MENTORING
Peggy Watt, Print Specialist, Lancer Ltd.
I would highly recommend Peter as a business growth coach. Peter clearly and concisely conveys the information while drawing on his own personal experiences. He is a teacher and a mentor and has provided valuable feedback for my success in business and life. I appreciate the breadth of experience Pete brings to his sales and business development training. He clearly has the background and the expertise to help others develop their marketing plans and move them forward toward their goals. It is important in a program like this that a comfortable learning environment is created in which to practice the skills he teaches and Peter does that very effectively. He clearly cares about the success of others. He exemplifies what he teaches. His program makes sense.

Kent Brace, General Manager/Sales Manager, Pacific Materials Handling Solutions, Inc.
The professional selling skills training program and sales coaching that you implemented as the Northwest General Manager at Pacific Materials Handling Solutions is still having a huge impact with our Sales Team. You helped greatly with implementing the company culture and on using a centralized sales control system. Your professional sales coaching reinforced the need to make the use of our system a daily job function. In fact, I just checked our open opportunities in the system. My team has 108 current open opportunities valued at $1.3 million. Prior to your program we averaged less than 1/3 of these numbers. We are continuing to reinforce your sales training and are targeting even higher results for next year. Please stay in contact with myself and our TEAM!

Peter always has the goal in mind and doesn’t act as a boss, but rather as a teammate- someone willing to help. He leads by example and remembers to follow up on the detail regarding each of our prospects and initiatives.
Dan Weedin, President, Toro Consulting, Inc.
I have had the chance to work with Peter over the past couple of years and find him to be an excellent resource for business people who are looking to effectively grow their business. Peter has a positive “can-do” attitude and will help you achieve your goals.
Katie Munoz, Owner, Moving Forward, Inc.
Pete has been coaching me since August 2009, and I am thrilled by what we have accomplished together. My business was well established, but I felt overwhelmed with all of the things that I thought I needed to do make it grow. Pete helped me zero in on priorities and jettison less important tasks. The business document templates he gave me saved me weeks of development work. Now he is helping me learn effective and comfortable techniques for following up with potential clients (the thing I used to dread the most). So not only is the dream of growing the business is turning into an achievable goal, it is getting easier. Amazing. December 28, 2009

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Peter on growing my business. He brings a level of professionalism, expertise and experience that makes him exceptionally well suited to help business owners or sales professionals. Peter does not just give you the answers- he helps you find the answers to growing your business that work for you. Anyone who feels stalled out or needs a new direction in order to consistently exceed goals — should meet with Peter.

Pete and I are great friends. We have managed to stay in touch through the years and have had many memorable breakfast, lunches and dinners. Pete is as good as it gets. He brings a business savvy that is often sorely missing. He also honestly cares about the welfare of the other person; this is something I greatly admire.
SPEAKING/ TEACHING/TRAINING
SEP2009- Various Participants in sales training at Iris Window Coverings
- I’ve had an opportunity to use the “it’s all about them, it’s not about you” theory. I was in need of a meeting with a long time customer, and was having a difficult time accomplishing this. Working my way down the list of contacts with this company, I told them “We are working on ways to improve service we provide to long time, valued customers. I believe if we could have 10 minutes of your time, for us to truly understand what is important to you, and the best way to improve how we do business with the Housing Authority, as well as provide value engineering options”,…..we’re meeting next Wednesday!!
- I recently had a situation with a customer who had me revise a proposal for her many times, as HER customer was being very finicky. When she contacted me via e-mail to revise the proposal for the 7th time, she was so apologetic; however, this gave me the opportunity to empathize with her and really listen to her needs in order to best help her take care of her client. In the end, we received a P.O. from her. Yea!
NOV2007- American Cancer Society
Pete McDowell is a professional and polished speaker who contributed valuable information to my seasoned group of staff on the importance of building trust to keep and grow your clientele. Building relationships is one of the most important parts of building a successful business, and Pete is a respected entrepreneur who really understands this. His community leadership is also to be commended as he supports organizations, like the American Cancer Society, whose missions are important to him. Laura St. Germain, Account Director

Comments on Pete McDowell’s presentation at Foster School of Business, University of Washington
John R. Castle, Sc.D. Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Foster School of Business: “Creating a Company”, ENTRE 473
- One measure of a compelling speaker is the number of people who flock to him at the end of the class session. Pete was surrounded by students who recognized a professional who knew how to get his subject across. I plan to invite him back in the future. John Castle, Sc.D.
- I feel that the vast majority of business is built around selling and understanding the mentality behind the relationships during a sell. Whether B-C, B-B, perspective employee-employer, or entrepreneur-VC. Given that perspective on the subject, I believe that the presentation was both very important and valuable and would recommend it for future classes. - JW
- That was one of the most useful lectures I have ever heard as a business student! It was extremely applicable to real life scenarios, and it contained a lot of valuable information. Good choice! – BK
- I thought Pete’s presentation was very valuable to our business, and for times in the future. It actually made me feel more confident in making a cold call to someone because he provided good structure to the conversation you should be having. Overall, very good! – AG
- I thought it was a very good presentation, and certainly consistent with the concepts I am learning in Jack Rhodes’ MKTG 335 sales class. I definitely buy into the philosophy that sales is about asking questions, finding the customer’s primary buying motive, selling the desired benefits, and building a trusting relationship that is win-win. I also liked that he used an interactive speaking style to engage the class. - BR
OCT 2008- Excell CEO Group
Thanks for yesterday. I found your 15 minute presentation very efficient and every bit as informative as a four hour slide show. Shawn Murray, President, Safety and Supply Company
NOV2008- Seattle Chamber of Commerce CEO Roundtable
Thank you for visiting and presenting. The feedback I got afterward was the same as yours-they were very happy they attended-got value that they could apply, etc. Remember, this topic was one that they came up with as wanting outside expertise to work with. It went very well, in my opinion
- You did a masterful job of providing/delivering the content, that I thought was wanted by the members
- Hit the mark perfectly-couldn’t have been better (a CEO’s view of this topic)
- The value you delivered that was special, in my opinion, was your executive level approach to sales and marketing (strategy, execution, management, reality).
- And, your perspective is experience based-excellent.
Thank you again for an excellent presentation of your skill and knowledge. I will try, and hope I can refer some business to you this year!” Michael J. Franz, Washington State University- Washington Small Business Development Center
